Overview

Qualcomm’s enhanced audio solutions enable mobile wireless devices to deliver advanced, three-dimensional audio capabilities for a richer, fuller, and more compelling multimedia experience. Two audio-enhancing technologies, QConcert™ and QAudioFX™, work together to deliver new richness to games, streaming audio, ringtones, music playback, and other applications enabled by 3G technology.

QConcert simulates a surround-sound experience by expanding audio beyond the listener’s space. This creates the effect of speakers that are larger and farther apart than they actually are on the mobile handset.

QAudioFX is Qualcomm’s enhanced gaming audio solution and enables sound sources to be placed in precise three-dimensional positions around the listener. Special audio effects that are located anywhere around, above, below or even behind the user can be aligned with 3D graphics to immerse the user into a more realistic gaming experience.
